Nii Funny’s Manager Rants About A Meager GHC2,000 Promo Investment

Whilst many will still wake up to the nightmare that Adomaa, the beautiful songstress who broke Ghana’s YouTube views with her epic mashups is the 2016 VGMA Unsung artiste of the year, others will be home calculating the meager investment the claim was channeled to push their artiste to the next level.

After Adomaa was announced winner of 2016 VGMA unsung artiste, many pundits have come out to epress their ill-manned views and unneeded opinoins on social media. For God knowns what they intend to achieve. It can be recalled in my last article “A UNIQUE MELANGE OF JAZZ, SOUL AND AFROBEAT MEET ADOMAA, THE MASH-UP SONGSTRESS” I mentioned “Adomaa is bringing a refreshing new surge of unique artistry to the world of Ghanaian music, with her personal style: an exclusive mélange of jazz soul and Afrobeat, with a voice that may sound sweet and light, but has the ability to reach into the depths of a listener’s soul.”




Today, here we are… earning more haters after the storm. But come to think of it, is it even worth the hate when it comes to good music?

In other jurisdictions, the Manager of ‘Yooko Ebreaki mi’ hitmaker, Halifax Ansah Addo has disclosed that within his circles they spent whooping Ghc2,000 on credits to vote for Nii Funny to win the VGMAs 2016 Unsung category.

According to him, if his camp spent Ghc2,000 but had only 5% of the total votes, then imagine the amount Adomaa who had about 60% of the vote spent on credit.




In an interview with Pluzz Fm, when asked by Sammy Flex the amount they spent on votes, he said, “Sammy, in my circles that’s me, Von, Nii Funny himself, we spent Ghc2, 000 on mobile credits to vote for Nii Funny ourselves not to even talk of those who also voted but we managed to pull only 5% of the total vote.”

He continued, “After the winner was made known, we sat down and did some calculations as a team and we realized that if spending Gh2,000 equals to only 5%, then imagine the amount Adomaa who pull about 60% spent on winning that category.” He asked.

Nii Funny was tipped by many to win easily the 2016 VGMAs Unsung category but he managed to pull only 5% of the total vote.
