-Stonebwoy doesn’t want his songs to be bought and uploaded for ‘free downloads’ because people make money from Adsense.Leader of Bhim Nation and Zylofon Music signee Stonebwoy has expressed his distaste in a press listening to his new #EOM album at the Zylofon Media headquarters at East Legon.
According to the multiple award-winning dancehall artiste, he doesn’t like the idea of some Ghanaian music websites unlawfully putting some musicians works for free downloads.
Stonebwoy is of the view that, these bloggers make a double profit from the uploading music for free download which does not bring any income to the artiste who invested.
” I know these websites uploads music for free, it’s not even only mine, other artists too,” he said.
“They end up making money from the music they bought and uploaded on their website for free downloads through Adsense. I know it’s legally not right so this should be something that we can all help fight.”
“Some of us might not go to court for this because in Ghana it’s only when you steal money that you’re considered a thief but uploading our music for free downloads too is a stealing because it’s against the copyright laws and you don’t have our permission.”
“We might beat those involved in this act to teach them a lesson,’ he said jokingly.
Stonebwoy’s forthcoming album which has 24 songs, 12 reggae and 12 afro beat songs on each side will be released on December 12 and launched on December 22nd at the ‘Bhim’ Nation Concert.
At a press briefing in Accra, Stonebwoy also revealed that having 12 reggae songs on the album was deliberate because he wanted to show how versatile he can be.
The album titled “Epistle of Mama” features international acts like Sean Paul, Agent Sasco and Kelvin boy on the reggae side and Burna boy, Sarkodie, Efya, Kofi Kinaata and Joey B on the afro beats side.
Stonebwoy is the first African Musician to have 24 songs on one album.
