Whilst the VGMAs nominees jam was something good to write home about, the 17th edition of the annual Vodafone Ghana Music Awards slated for May 7 will as feature some exciting performances from both local and international stars.

The issues of who takes home the ultimate trophy and who sings best mostly come into context whenever VGMAs comes to mind. Over the years, most of the performances witnessed at the VGMAs has been 99 percent singing over CD with so many ‘pull up’ ‘pull up’ but the gradual progress of fusing live performances into events these days has produced great results and as a matter of fact, this year’s VGMAs will see all artistes billed to perform go live.

From Ghana, the local line-up has fixtures from the ‘Mewu’ hitmaker Sarkodie, back to E.L, known for hit song Koko and the 4-time best female vocalist Efya. Current BET Best International Act, Africa, Stonebwoy will also be performing as well as SP Kofi Sarpong, Bisa Kdei, Joe Mettle, Patience Nyarko and others.




Back on the turntables is Joy Fm’s Dj Black. Dj Black will be backed by the swagon papa, Funny Face will also pass through with his comedy at the event.
