Shatta Wale, Mista Silva, Others Up for MOBO Awards 2015

Shatta WaleEstablished in the nineties by Kanya King and Andy Ruffell, the “Music of Black Origin” – MOBO Awards is held annually in the United Kingdom to recognize artists of any ethnicity or nationality performing black music. This year’s nomination acknowledges Ghana’s relevance once again in the music arena; dance hall champ Shatta Wale, British musician of Ghanaian descent Fuse ODG and Brockley based Mista Silva were all part of the tall list alongside Nigerian best acts Wizkid, Davido, Patoranking, Yemi Alade, AKA from South Africa, Moelogo and Silvastone.

The nominations announced by former Xtra Factor host Sarah-Jane Crawford at Ronnie Scott’s jazz club in London. The 10 musicians would however be shortlisted to five final nominees by public vote and the final five will be revealed on 14 October 2015.
