Hip-hop artiste, Sarkodie on Saturday evening (04-03-16) released a new single titled ‘A man’s world’ directed at Peace Fm’s Akwasi Aboagye and Slip music boss, Mark Okraku-Mantey.
The record has been the talk of town for days and according to Sarkodie’s lyrics, Mark Okraku-Mantey talks about him because of the love he has for him. Sarkodie went ahead to lament on Peace FM’s Akwasi Aboagye’s disguised hate and attempt to pull him down after he (Sarkodie) struggled to put Ghana on the music map.
The beautiful record under 2 minutes details a lot and it’s fun listening to. I think this record is vry refreshing although it’s short.
Reacting to the song on Starr FM’s Morning Zoo, Mark Okraku-Mantey in an interview with Giovanni Caleb disclosed that he doesn’t see anything wrong about the song, and that Sarkodie was just expressing his opinion about how he (Sarkodie) feels about him.
Mark further took shots at the best rapper in Africa saying, “I’ve heard the song, but it was played on phone so I cannot talk about production but the song is good.”
“Sarkodie is a small boy and a liar”
“He lied about his Apollo theatre record, he being the first to be there and has lied about everything back to back”
“People see him as arrogant and I believe he needs to work on his image to help project him better although he’s doing fine”
Asked what he thinks about Sarkodie surviving with his constant diss records to the media, Mark said: “Sarkodie claims the media hates him but he has forgotten it was the same media that discovered his talent”
“The media can unseat his fame as well as any other public figure so he should calm his nerves”
“Sarkodie needs to make amends with the media and stop his rants about the media trying to pull him down”
Mark, the unequivocal critic concluded, “There is nothing negative about that song, that’s his opinion, I don’t have anything against him.”
Mark Okraku-Mantey claims Sarkodie is a liar and he has lied about everything yet he told Mr. Caleb on Starr FM that he( mark) only heard Sarkodie’s song aired on a phone. Maybe he has also forgot what he said on Hitz FM when he was asked to comment on the song earlier this week. Before Mr. Mantey answered his question about the accliamed diss song, the song was aired on “Day Break Hitz” twice so there’s no way he can come out and say he heard the song on phone.
Mark responding to Sarkodie’s diss song said: “I’ve heard the song, but to me I don’t think it’s a diss song. It wasn’t a jab or something negative; he was just expressing his view on how he thinks I treat him or relates to him”.
So I ask, who’s the real liar here? Is it the hate or media personalities finds pleasure in contradicting their words to confuse the populace about Ghanaian artistes? This is just the beginning. We hope for the second half of Sarkodie’s record.
