Osei Kuffour takes over from Opoku Nti as the new CEO for Asante Kotoko

Osei KuffourThe former Bayern Munich and Black Stars defender was on Saturday named the new Chief Executive of the Porcupine Warriors.

Sources within the Porcupine Warriors top hierarchy have confirmed that the former Ghana international has the blessing of the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II and he will not be working with the existing board headed by Paul Adu Gyamfi esq. The board has been dissolvent, hence Kuffour will not work under any board of directors.

The Uefa Champions League winner takes over from Samuel Opoku Nti, who was recently voted as a Ghana Football Association (GFA) national executive committee member.

Osei Kuffour who until yesterday was a member of the board of directors of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, who were appointed in 2013 to take over from the K.K Sarpong led board.

Kuffour, who was phenomenal at German giants Bayern Munich a decade ago, is revered as the personality who can transform the fortunes of the struggling Fabulous Club. He has lined up sponsorship packages from within the country and abroad to the Kumasi-based outfit and it is likely that either Puma or Adidas will kit the club next season.

though the Porcupine Warriors struggled throughout the 2014-15 season and failed to defend any of the FA Cup and league titles won in the 2013-14 season the future looks bright ahead with a Danish scout, Thomas Moller Nielson, Who has been appointed the club’s new Technical Director.

An official statement is expected from the club in the coming days.
