The battle for MUSIGA presidency saw veteran musician Gyedu Blay Ambolley and ace sound engineer Appiah Dankwa popularly known as Apietus contest the incumbent president Bice Osei Kuffour “Obour”. At the end of the event, Obour polled off 88 votes out of the general votes from contenders Gyedu Blay Ambolley and Appiah Dankwa “Appietus”.
Bice Osei Kuffour popularly known as Obour has been sworn into office as new Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) president for another four-year term.
Gyedu Blay Ambolley along with Appietus all managed to poll 22 and 18 votes respectively.
The elections took place at the Oyinka Hotel in the Eastern Region and was attended by several personalities from the creative and arts industry in Ghana.
The congress which was scheduled from October 29th ended on 31st October, 2015 with other contestants who vied for various positions within the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA). The 6th congress was under the theme: Developing The Music Industry, The Role Of An Effective Union.
