The Work It star was booked to play gigs in Rio de Janeiro and Porto Alegre in November 2012 and reportedly agreed to promote the shows in a scheduled appearance on Brazilian TV network Rede Globo.
However, in legal documents obtained by TMZ, concert booker Jean Faustin claims Elliott failed to show up for the TV promos, which he alleges subsequently led to poor ticket sales. As a result, both concerts were cancelled.
In his lawsuit, Faustin says he paid Elliott a £46,875 deposit for the concerts, and he is seeking reimbursement for the advance, plus interest.
Missy Elliott, 44, has had a busy 2015, playing the Essence Music Festival in Louisiana, US, Bestival on the Isle of Wight, UK, performing alongside Katy Perry at this year’s (15) Super Bowl and the Pemberton Music Festival in British Colombia, Canada.
