M.anifest dents mutuality in 'Hand Dey Go, Hand Dey Come’ videoRapper M.anifest is rounding 2017 on a good note even though less was heard about his Christmas concert.

Described as “the foremost rapper on the continent,” in 2015 by the Guardian (UK),  M.anifest’s originality and impressive lyricism has earned him collaborations with musical giants such as Tony Allen, Damon Albarn, Flea (Red hot Chili Peppers), Erykah Badu, Femi Kuti, A.B Crentsil and more.

His song ‘B.E.A.R’ off his 2016 album No Where Cool was recently used as the soundtrack for HOOPS Africa‘s new Basketball documentary named HOOPS AFRICA: UBUNTU MATTERS.

It is a collection of stories that celebrates the past, present, and future of basketball in Africa, spotlighting the sport’s impact on society and its development on the continent.

From the dreams of a young Zimbabwean player to honoring the NBA legends who paved the way before him, this film journeys through the growth of the game in Africa.

Centering on basketball nonprofit Hoops 4 Hope in South Africa and Zimbabwe, this documentary uncovers the role the African philosophy of Ubuntu played in the Boston Celtics’ 2008 NBA Championship season and also documents the historic 2015 NBA Africa Game.

Featuring Hakeem Olajuwon, Dikembe Mutombo, Adam Silver, Luol Deng, Luc Mbah a Moute, Chris Paul, Doc Rivers, Paul Pierce, and many more NBA greats, this documentary shows us all why #UbuntuMatters.

It aired on NBATV on December 24 and 26, 2017.

M.anifest is an internationally acclaimed award-winning Hip Hop artist from Accra, Ghana, known for musical boundary crossing multilingual wordplay, and a refreshing hybrid songwriting approach that acknowledges both his Ghanaian upbringing and his sojourns in the West.
