For years, commuters have had to endure long hours in traffic. Monday (14th November 20160 saw the opening of a new flyover at the Kwame Nkrumah Circle, Accra.
The ‘Dubai-inspired’ overpass was officially opened by Ghana’s president and it is expected to transform the misery of daily commute in the Ghana’s capital.
President John Mahama billed it as “the longest, highest flyover in West Africa”.
The Kwame Nkrumah Interchange comes with a water park and fountain that have been built in the middle.
It is “not just a modern interchange but a convenient place for tourism. The health and happiness of citizens are also important,” Prez Mahama revealed.
He encouraged people to take a stroll in the water park and enjoy the lighting and architecture.
The project, which took three years to complete, is made up of carriageways linking the busy city centre to other parts of the capital. Check out photos from the venue.
