Multiple award-winning dancehall artiste Samini kicked off his annual Saminifest anniversary last year with a successful week-long event. As part of the celebration, there was a concert at the Trade Fair Center with 25 artistes on the bill to rock.
One of the many artistes who performed at last year’s event, Koo Ntakra has revealed how bad he was treated at last year’s event. In a Facebook post by a member of his management team, PapaQuasy Abakh, he alleged that even though Samini put his artiste on the bill without any payment, they had to pay organisers of the concert at last minute of the show before his artiste could climb stage to perform.
He further disclosed that organisers of this year’s event have advertised his “boy” as a performing act on the night of the concert without officially informing them. Below is what PapaQuasy Abakh wrote on Facebook Monday evening.
Organizers of #Saminifest i need answers to some questions about my artist Koo Ntakra. Last year,he was billed to perform on the event without any form of payment,we saw it as supporting a senior member in the industry, but treatment to the artist billed on your show was nothing to write home about,to the extent of me paying at some point to get him to perform,at some stage when i questioned why such treatment,i was told by a member of the organisers MTN forced him(the artist) on them, notwithstanding the fact,at least there should have been a little respect shown. A year on, we see #KooNtakra billed on the same event without any information to the artist or his management, i presume, if i was to put #Samini‘s name on my event without his notice or management notice, hell would break lose. Please as much as we all want to support each other in the industry,a little respect to all wouldn’t kill anyone. I don’t want my artist to come suffer at the gate like last year just to support his senior brother. And i hope MTN did not force him on you this year as well. Please when will you call us officially to inform us of our participation?
Long live GH Music.

Samini is yet to react to these accusations, but celebritytvgh.com gathers that the “Iskoki” hitmaker made it clear on Peace FM over the weekend that all artistes billed for this year’s Saminifest concert are performing for free.
