Video: Sarkodie Lauds George Quaye in Jayso’s ‘Little Monsters’
Whenever you want to thrill yourself with some creative visuals and hip-hop songs, Skillions Records could be your ultimate stop for all the dope locally blended hip-hop records.
From the days of ‘Momma Love Me’, ‘I’m In Love With Your Girlfriend’ and back to ‘Let Them Know’, all the collaborated songs from Sarckess Music camp and Skillions have been fireworks and one may want to ask why most of their videos are animated. Truth is, their video concepts are mind-blowing!
‘Little Monsters,’ another creative record off Jayso’s recently released ‘Making Tasha Proud’ album featured multiple award-winning act Sarkodie and this time they couldn’t hold their flex saving Miss Hiplife.
The creative animated video released by Jayso follows a mission concept where a lady “Miss Hiplife” needs to be saved. On the lighter side, the song coupled with the video simply delves into saving the hiplife music Ghana once cherished.
Whilst Jayso was getting rich producing these ‘little monsters’ claiming to be top hiplife shattas, he actually mocked them saying “wait lemme say this quick; little monsters made me rich…”
The video editors took some time to advertise Coconut Groove Hotels, they also made sure all the executive producers had a good run for their money at the latter part.
Although there are some tiny flaws spotted in the video, it can qualify for the most creative animated video I have seen so far in 2016. It reminds me of the Men In Black (MIB) days.
The Flaws
Whereas Jayso and Sarkodie were seen flying into the sky off their jetskies on their mission to save Miss hiplife, no jetpack was spotted behind them when they flew like birds into the space ship of the aliens but then again when it was time to descend, one can spot a magic jetpack behind them… and what I couldn’t understand from their departure was why they didn’t fly back to the land but rather continued their journey in the skies like they live there… Maybe they will descend with a remix, hopefully.
All too soon, the bars delivered in the 4:23 minutes song contributes to making the video epic. This actually cements both acts as the best hip-hoppers Ghana can ever boost off. Whenever these two teams up, you can handle find your favourite rapper.
HINT
It could be recalled some months back that rapper Sarkodie took some shots at a radio presenter named Akwasi Aboagye of Peace FM and an artiste manager Mark Okraku Mantey also with Hitz FM in his song “A Man’s World”. Whilst many were expecting the other 2 minutes of the song from King Sark, it seems Sarkodie has already released the list of names of industry persons who actually love his act and support him in all his activities in his yet-to-be-released songs and features.
Sarkodie was heard lauding Charter House PR and TV personality George Quaye in a line saying “Watch, Obi ma mi touch, guy ye ejuma wo Charter House yefre nu Goerge…” “Wonim ma shasie nti oni me ni grudge” literally saying George Quaye of Charter House has been a source of inspiration to him because he knows where he (Sarkodie) started from and he (George) keeps motivating him to do better.
The animated video was created by Peter Poka of Poka Studios and edited by Nii Ofei Teddy. Work on the video started somewhere in June last year as most of the lyrics spoke about happening in January 2016.
Jayso released his solo album “Making Tasha Proud” last year, 2015. Have fun watching the video below. Another creative record the two teamed up for was “Have A Party”. Song feature Sarkodie & Raquel. Click here for the full album
