Multiple award-winning artiste, Shatta Wale born Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jnr. has said that he does not intend to be blowing his trumpet when he shows off his accomplishments. The “Taking Over” hitmaker and leader of the Shatta Movement said disclosing his wealth to the public is only to motivate his followers to believe in themselves that they can also achieve that same status through hard work.
Meanwhile, Shatta Wale made a shocking revelation when he told the host of the show that former president, John Dramani Mahama has stopped answering his call after the NDC lost the elections.
Shatta Wale who was widely reported to be affiliated to the NDC added that he has been calling the former president since December yet his phone rings and nobody answers. He believes it could be as a result of his busy schedule, he jokingly added. He was quick to also add that he was in good terms with the former president and though he may not be answering his calls now, he believes he and the NDC need some time to cool of the stress after losing the 2016 election to President of the Republic, Nana Akufo-Addo.
Touching on his music, he also said, many individuals said humiliating things about him when he began his dancehall music in 2013 but because he was focused on achieving his dream he wasn’t swayed by the discouraging comments and that is what has made him superstar.
“I started driving my father’s Pajero and E Class Benz at the age of 14 but I never boasted because of my father’s wealth so why now. What I’ve learnt in life is that if as a human I allow pride to take centre stage in my life, I believe in no time, God will relegate me.
“When I started this dancehall music in 2013, people said so many things about my downfall in the industry but God has given me this talent that Ghanaian should accept it, we will all enjoy in this country with one great superstar. I’m bringing my house out because I want people to feel motivated. I’ve two houses now, one at East Legon, ‘Menpe Asem’.”
He added that if some foreign artistes own cars and mansions, he also owns same.
Shatta Wale was speaking in an interview on Kasapa FM’s ‘Aben Wo Ho’ show hosted by Gattuso Friday.
