Dr. Abdul-Nashiru Issahaku has been appointed by President John Dramani Mahama to replace Dr. Kofi Wampah who has proceeded on leave prior to retirement.

Dr. Nashiru Issahaku becomes the new Governor for the Central Bank.

Until his appointment, he was a Second Deputy Governor, Strategic Planning and Budget Committee, and the Monetary Policy Committee, of Bank of Ghana and served on many committees including the Economy and Research Committee, His appointment takes effect today April 04, 2016.

Prior to joining the BoG, Dr. Issahaku acted as the Chief Executive Officer of Export Development and Agricultural Investment Fund (EDAIF).




Dr. Issahaku has also worked with the African Development Bank and the World Bank. Dr. Issahaku holds Masters in Agric Economics and a Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Georgia.
