Conceding nine goals in just four matches is quite boring for the defending champions and they are keen to keep their defensive structure in place for continuity and performance boosting.
Chelsea who are plagued with defensive problems tried a move to solve this menace. In their bid to respond, they have completed signing Nantes defender Papy Djilobodji for a reported £4 million.
Chelsea couldn’t get stones from Everton and have gone for Djilobodji instead on a four-year deal.
A statement on Nantes website said: “As with Jordan Veretout, Djilobodji joins the Premier League and the ranks of the champions. Nantes extend their congratulations and wish him well for the rest of his career.”
