Chief Executive of the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA), Alfred Oko Vanderpuije has picked nomination forms to contest the Ablekuma South parliamentary seat ahead of the National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) primaries.
Mr Vanderpuije, who has been the mayor of Accra for the past 10 years said in an interview on Accra-based television station, TV3 that following his observations around the constituency, he believes he is the right candidate for the position.
“I have monitored activities around the constituency for several years and I know what they need and I’m the right man to bring such leadership to the area,” he said.
The incumbent Member of Parliament (MP) for the area, Fritz Barfuor, will not be seeking re-election.
