Last Sunday (9th of April) saw several artistes attend a major event in Nairobi. The 10th edition of Blankets and Wine festival at the Ngong Racecourse Waterfront.
The event saw music, art and fashion lovers come out in their numbers.
Artistes billed to perform included South African rapper AKA, Nigerian/German artiste Nneka and Kenyan urban soul artiste Fena Gitu best known as Fenamenal Woman.
Following the theme “Made in KE”, organizer created a specially curated pop-up area featuring talented and globally resounding fashion and accessories designers from Kenya—all with special promotional pricing that can’t be found elsewhere.
The festival gave platform to some of Kenya’s local musicians; Trina Mungai , Janice Iche , Kahvinya, Metro Empathy, Ciano, Prisca Ojwang as well as Mvroe and Kiwango who prepared way for top acts to climax the evening.
Fena Gitu gave patrons just enough of her much talked about songs including; “Sema Ng’we”, “Brikicho”, “Fenamenal woman”, Necessary Noise among others.
Nigerian/German artiste Nneka didn’t disappoint either.
Man of the moment, AKA’s performance took the fans to another level at the festival where he performed hits song from “Baddest” to “Congratulate” as well as “The world is yours.”
He was vibrant throughout his performance and had the crowd singing along to all the songs he performed.
